Our Background

Where did this come from?

We started by asking a simple question: "How can I be a better man?" It is a straightforward question that is difficult to ask another man. However, this is a question that has changed our lives forever. When men challenge themselves to become better, the hardest part is knowing where to start. We have found that community and mentorship are essential for successfully changing our lives for the better. It all began when my mentor suggested that starting a group with my friends would be a great way to grow as a better man. I am Aaron, Head of Leadership here at 611 Men. I was the one who started with "I need help." My marriage was on the brink of divorce, and the arguments with my wife had become so intense that we could barely stand each other. I was praying and trying to figure out what to do next. Through prayer, I realized that I needed someone to guide me on how to start fixing my life. I have been married since September 2018 to my amazing wife. She loved me, but would say things like, "I just wish you would lead our house," or "Why are you not our spiritual leader?" I kept trying everything I knew until I realized I needed help because I had no idea what to do. As a man, I thought I was supposed to problem-solve and fix everything, but I wasn't finding a solution. Once I reached out and asked for a mentor, my life changed forever. I met my mentor for breakfast, and he asked me a simple yet challenging question: "Where do you feel like you are lacking as a man?" I didn't like my answer; I felt I was lacking in everything. Then he suggested we start a Bible study to learn more about the Bible and encouraged me to bring some friends along. I brought two friends to the study, and we began to learn together how to become a tribe of men. Not only did we learn what the Bible has to say, but we also discovered how to be better men for our wives and our community. Our goal now is to help others do the same: to find a mentor and experience the incredible feeling of being a Godly man.
